2023: A YEAR OF LEARNING AND GROWInG FOR LOVING ME 1st!

For Loving Me 1st, 2023 fundraising came to a close on December 31st, 2023. The goal was $25,000. While we didn't make it there for the calendar year, we're proud to have reached $20,050! We're so grateful to everyone that supported our efforts in monetary donations, material contributions, and volunteer hours! 

This year, Loving Me 1st faced challenges that could not have been defeated without the direct effort of supporters that believe in empowering girls and young women. 2023's  donations supported the 8th Annual Girl's conference, amazing on-campus girl's club, and so much more. Through 2023, Loving Me 1st also had the capability to engage with the local community in new ways through parent workshops, and added outside of school events like the virtual empowerment workshops. 

Honestly, 2023 was a banner year for Loving Me 1st! This year, the nonprofit was presented the great honor of 2023 Non-pprofit of the Year from State Assemblymember Dr. Corey Jackson for AD60 and the 2023 Black Excellence award from the San Bernardino Negro League. It's been an absolute dream to be awarded these great honors.

For 2024, Loving Me 1st has decided to maintain the fundraising goal of $25,000. While there has been plenty of interest both internally and externally for the Loving Me 1st program to go national, instead, the non-profit will be be taking additional time to secure additional funding, new goals for the year, and intentional focus, ahead of 2025, the tenth year of operations. 

Aside from defining a more intentional focus for 2024 into 2025, this will be year of increased community connection events and support events for empowering girls and young women.
