Parent Empowerment Sessions 2024

There are many who say that parenthood is the hardest journey that a person can go on. Parents don't get a guide book, instead they get the lifetime responsibility of a constantly changing leadership role. It can be easy to get bogged down by the hard parts, and miss the beauty of supporting your little human being to become adapted to the world outside of the home, and past that, self-actualized.  

In collaboration with Val Verde Unified School District, Loving Me 1st was proud to introduce the second year of the Parent Empowerment Sessions, a series of facilitated by our founder, Kama.  

This series was designed for parents that need more personal support to handle their role as a parent and caregiver. This space was created to offer parents a safe space where parents could talk about it, get support, inspiration and the tools to deal with parenthood head-on. Sessions were held on Mondays starting on May 13th, and went until June 17th, with one lone Wednesday session on June 5th. All sessions started at 1:30 PM. 

Dates included: 5/13, 5/20, 6/3, *6/5, 6/10, 6/17 (*Wednesday).

In 2023, the classes covered the subjects below:

May 18 - Introduction Meeting & Starting with Your Why

May 25  - Living a Purpose-filled Life

June 1 - Self-Care, Self-Worth

June 5 - Navigating a Mind Shift

June 8 - Relieving Stressors in Your Life

June 15 - The Wrap Up

These days especially, we're all learning more about mental health and how important it is in developing healthy kids and supporting their growth. Parents are the first teachers a child will have, and often the most influential. Parents often give the very best of ourselves to their children, but everyone has to be reminded from time to time that you can't pour from an empty cup.
